Doris Kameko Araki, 100, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 9 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Pahala, she was a retired room maid for the former Kona Surf Hotel. Services held. No koden (monetary gifts). Survived by sons, Melvin Araki of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Roy Araki of Honolulu; daughters, Evangeline Shipley of Oklahoma, Gayle (Paul) Hirnoaka of Maui and Joan (Ed) Kuroda of Keaau; sister, Stella Saito of Honolulu; daughter-in-law, Wendy Araki of Honolulu; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Donald “Don” Davis, 45, of Glenwood died Nov. 20 at home. He was born in Tracy, Calif. Celebration of life 9 a.m. Saturday at Moku Ola (Coconut Island). Herman Waha Gramberg Sr., 92, of Hilo died Nov. 6 at Shoal Creek Rehabilitation Center of Crestview, Fla. Born in Kailua, Oahu, he was a retired truck driver for Standard Oil Co. of Hilo, employee of National and Alamo car rentals and member of Hale O Na Ali‘i, Lanikai, Kamehameha and Wailani canoe clubs.
